Waited till last minute to make a decision on going. As much as I love to travel, this time it was a tough decision. I felt like the only 'chicken" in the group of OAT travelers. May be I am getting too old, too conservative or just loving my life here. At one time, a fellow traveler had commented that people who travel too much are 'running away from something"...no that can not be true, but something to think about..
A dear friend from Turkey got annoyed with me because I kept asking him about the safety in Turkey, he does not understand that i am not worried about what people in Turkey will do, I am concerned about what our politicians will do. In any case, this morning I woke up with the realization that our government is not capable of making any decisions ( good or bad)
A usual chaos with the hidden rhythm of some system is under way in the house. Clothes, medicines, suit cases, souvenirs, chargers, adapters, hand sanitizers, good byes and bank cards all over. Did you know that traveler's checks are out dated now. When did it happen? As much as I travel, it escaped me completely. No one issues the traveler's checks any more. I hope the bank cards work, I feel more comfortable with real money but oh well, bank cards will have to do.
Oh, BTW,my nephew got really sick from Malaria ( in India) so i got the Malaria pills ( wrong kind) . Anupam and Theresa both looked it up and FDA has high alert warning about this particular one ( causes hallucinations). Good thing they caught it, but why is it in market?? Internet is a wonderful thing.
I better get to some packing before it is too late. I will keep this blog updated and hope you travel along with me to the magical cross road of civilizations. Good night.

Bravo! I would do the same. Nicely written, beautiful background. I didn't know about the TCs either - have a couple that I should convert before they go completely extinct.
